World leaders and public figures from around the
world descended on FNB Stadium just outside Johannesburg to pay their
respects to South Africa's iconic anti-apartheid leader and former
president Nelson Mandela.Below are pictorial views of some of the world leaders and dignitaries who guessed the occasion.

2.RAUL CASTRO AND DILMA ROUSEFF: Raul Castro the Cuban president also guessed the occasion alongside with the Brazilian president dilma rouseff. see picture above.
3. GEORGE W. BUSH, BILL CLINTON AND HILLARY CLINTON: also in attendance where former us presidents george bush and bill clinton alongside with his wife hillary clinton who was a former secretary of states to obama. see picture above
4.KOFI ANNAN & DESMOND TUTU: former un secretary koffi annan was also there alongside with Mandela's fellow anti-apartheid figurehead and retired Anglican
archbishop Desmond Tutu who addressed the crowd in English, Afrikaans and
several other South African dialects and said: "Now we are going to promise God that we are going to follow the example of Nelson Mandela". see picture above.

6. BAN KI-MOON: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was also present. He spoke to the crowd and said the memorial marked both a "sorrow for a mighty loss and celebration of a mighty life". see picture above
7. PRANAB MUKHERJEE: the indian president was also there. India's President Pranab Mukherjee told the crowd: "Nelson Mandela was a visionary. He epitomised uncommon human ways that inspired all of mankind." see picture above
8. WINNIE MADIKIZELA-MANDELA: Mandela's ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was also there. she kept wiping away tears during the service. She had remained married to him for all of his 27 years in prison. see picture above
9. FK DE KLERK: Mandela's Nobel co-laureate, deputy president and South Africa's final apartheid-era president FW De Klerk was also there.picture above shows his gestures during the memorial service.
